The older two went to their grandma's house. I kept Matthew home, because he wasn't feeling very well. I didn't want to make him go if he wasn't feeling very good. The kids had a great day/night/morning with their grandparents. Then, since Laura didn't have school the next day she got to spend another night there... then went to work with her grandma on Monday. She seemed to have a lot of fun!
During the time that the older two were at grandma's we had some stress with Matthew. The boy woke up Sunday morning running 102(+) fever. He was pretty miserable and just wanted to be snuggled. No big deal there... but he wasn't responding to fever reducers very well. I let him sleep off the day and hoped that he would have gone down by morning. Well, by morning it was 102(+) again and he was extremely lathargec. The poor boy was miserable. So I called the doctor. (I hadn't taken him to the ER because all they ever tell ya is to give him medicine and wait it out until the doctor opens... the ER here is USELESS.) They got him in at 1:30 that same day. He wouldn't tell anyone what, if anything, was hurting. He had stepped on something the day before at the lake (well, I guess that was Saturday night) but it shouldn't have been causing what was going on. So, we write up labs for urine, strep culture, and an x-ray of his foot (to make sure that something long didn't stick him in his foot and break off or anything). We did the strep thing first... then the x-ray and I still haven't gotten him to co-operate with the urine thing yet. I asked how long the results would take on the strep screening and they said 20 minutes and so I gave them 30 to get the results back to the doctor before I called to ask how that went. Well, they said it was positive. So, they would call something in for him. So, we picked up that medicine. This is the first time I've ever had to deal with strep. I hope I don't have to do it again anytime to soon!
In the mean time, before Matthew's appointment the doctor FINALLY called me with my results. I'm not sure what to make of them... besides they stuck me on a different antibiotic. I'm gonna ask them at my follow up appointment.
I've been so busy cleaning/rearranging my house... it's been crazy!! I'm glad that I'm almost done though. I think I bleached all the walls and floor boards. Steam cleaned the carpets... WOWSER! That's part of what's keeping me so busy... is cleaning on the house!
I did take the lil' man to the lake the other day and got some GREAT photos... I'll try to share them a little later tonight or tomorrow morning.
