School Supplies...

It's amazing that it's already the time of year where you need to buy school supplies! It seems this summer has flown by for the most part! So, a few days ago I prepared by picking up three supply lists. I know how it gets closer to time for school to start (less than 30 days now!). They tend to run out of supply lists and such. Since I didn't have my lists organized yet (I learned that if I go through the lists and make ONE copy with the number of everything I need it works out much quicker!) we picked up what would probably be the MAIN expense of going back to school. We knocked out the back packs... This year it was early enough that each kid got to pick their own and be more individual. Laura went with Tink, Caleb went with Superheros, and Matthew went with Diego. Then to knock out the next things that tend to go quickly... I went with two pairs of scissors and 1 ruler. Stuff I still have to get:
  • 2 x 24 count crayons
  • 24 ct pencils (I have the others at home already)
  • 1 zipper pencil case
  • Small plastic pencil case
  • 4 x 4oz glue bottles
  • 5 x glue sticks
  • 3 x large pencil erasers
  • 2 x watercolors
  • 2 x colored pencils
  • 8 ct washable markers
  • Wide ruled note book paper
  • 2 x wide ruled 70 sheet notebook paper
  • 2 x folders with pockets and fasteners
  • 2 x grading pens
  • 2 x boxes of tissues
  • Roll of paper towels
  • Garbage Bag (20-30 gallon cinch type)
  • Soft soled gym shoes
  • 2 x old shirts
  • Plastic paint cover shirt
*sigh* I just LOVE back to school! I actually can't wait for it to be over and have them all back to school. Current amount spent is APPROX. $45 (with my discount & sales). I will have at LEAST $24 in fees for kindergarten and the rest of the supplies.

So, when do you start shopping for back to school? What's on your list this year? How much do you spend on average?
